Spanish La Liga 2010-2011 – Odds, Betting Tips and Winner Pick for the season

The 2010-2011 La Liga Season is upon us and there are many fantastic betting opportunities available for punters. Who will win the La Liga Title? Who will get relegated from the Spanish League? Are there any betting specials on offer? Read on as we preview the long term bets available to you this season. All Prices are available now and are provided by William Hill Sports.

To Win the Title

It appears that the title challenge will be a two horse race again this season. Barcelona is the clear favourites and William Hill Sports offer odds 1.80 for them to reclaim the title. With the addition of David Villa Barcelona’s attacking strength is frightening this season, but if anybody can stop Barcelona, it should be Jose Mourinho.

However the tactician will know that he and his team will have to be at their complete best to beat Barcelona to the title. Mourinho has won titles on his debut season for his last 3 clubs, and he will be hoping to do so again at Real Madrid. Real Madrid is currently at odds 2.10 to win the title.

We don’t believe that any other team can win the title, but if your interested in betting on outsiders, then Sevilla are priced at odds 26, Atletico Madrid at odds 34 and Valencia are available at odds 41.

To Get Relegated

Hercules, Levante and Sporting Gijon got promoted last season and the bookies think they will all go straight back down. Hercules and Levante are joined favourites at odds 1.57, while Sporting Gijon and Almeria follow at odds 3.5.

Other candidates for the drop are Malaga and Racing Santander at odds 4, while Osasuna is prized at 4.33 and Real Sociedad is at 4.5.

If you want an outsider we recommend Getafe, who lost two of their star players from last season. Winger Pedro León went to Real Madrid and 16 goals forward Roberto Soldado joined Valencia.

Furthermore last years player of the season Derek Boateng also looks set to leave for West Bromwich Albion, which is the last club to be linked with the midfield player. They also compete in the Europa League this year and it all might be too much to handle for Getafe’s small squad. Getafe is available at odds 8 at William Hill Sports to be relegated this season.

Top Goal scorer

This is a tough one, as there is so much attacking talent in La Liga, but again most of the focus should be on Barcelona and Real Madrid.

David Villa is the favourite to be top goal scorer this season with odds 4.5 and is followed by teammate Lionel Messi at odds 6. The Real Madrid boys follow with Cristiano Ronaldo at odds 7.5 and Gonzalo Higuain at odds 9.

If you want to bet outside the big two teams, then Atletico Madrid’s Diego Forlan is available at odds 17 and Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano at odds 21.

Special Bets

In addition to the traditional bets above, you also find many special bets available at William Hill Sports for the 2010 season.

Examples of some special bets include Real Madrid to break the record for goals scored by a team (107), which is available at odds 6 or Mourinho still to be manager at the start of next season, currently at odds 1.17 if you believe yes and 4.50 for no.

Should you believe Mourinho can win all three titles again this season, the odds of 34 is also available at William Hill Sports.
