Manchester United Vs. Wolves – Premier League – Match Preview and Betting Tips

Manchester United’s spirit will certainly be boosted, as they head toward this game having won a comfortable 3-0 in the Champions league against Bursaspor. They seem to have finally gone past the unnecessary draws and have begun harvesting league points through determination and hard work, despite the frustrating injuries that have come their way.

Match Preview

Manchester United are not without injuries and untimely ones for that matter. Their main striker Wayne Rooney is not expected to return to the field before about three weeks following an ankle injury. Their winger Valencia is not expected back this season, as he picked up a serious injury in a previous Champions league game. In addition both Giggs & Owen are out with hamstring injuries, while Hargreaves and Nani are out as well.

This has however not dampened their performances lately, as they are still managing to win games and have so far not lost a single game this season. Very impressive for a team without any star players, although they have ran into five draws that have kept them away from the top of the table, where Chelsea are currently dominating.

Wolverhampton on the other hand are not easy to push over. Their most recent win over Manchester City should serve as a warning to Manchester United, and although many would still consider them huge ‘underdogs’, they are a tough team to beat. Skeptics may point out that this was in fact the first win of the season for them. Still, you always start a journey from the beginning. This could well be a start to a somewhat successful campaign in the Premier League for them.

Wolverhampton will be counting on David Edwards and Nenad Milijas to assist in changing the score early in the match, as they play their customary 4-4-2 formation. We expect United to play 4-4-2 as well, but the lineup could be tricky to predict. I expect Berbatov and Hernandez to start the game with Macheda coming on as a substitute to Berbatov later on. Ji-Sung Park is also likely to make the starting lineup to fill out the room left by Valencia. Having scored his second ever Champions League goal against Bursaspor, Darren Fletcher has vowed to score many more and he could be the man you want to keep an eye on during this game.

Betting Tip for Manchester United vs Wolverhampton

The match is a must win for Manchester United to keep up with Chelsea in front and even though they are missing high quality players, their replacements have done a good job so far. Wolverhampton surprised everyone by winning against Manchester City, but their performance was against a troubled City side. And this said, we can not see any other winner than Manchester United in this one.
