Liverpool will play Chelsea in today’s late Premier League match at Anfield. It is a spectacular encounter every time these two teams meet and you can always expect goals to be scored. Case and point, who can forget the thrilling Champions League game between these two, which ended as a draw with a total of eight goals scored!?

Match Preview

Steven Gerrard is a man in blistering form right now having scored a hat trick against Napoli in the Europa League two days ago (4th Nov). This game is set to kick off in the Anfield Stadium at exactly 16.00 GMT and will be refereed by Howard Webb.

Good news for Chelsea fans is that Florent Malouda has been declared fit to play this Premiere League clash with Liverpool. Chelsea also look deadly with the ball having demolished Spartak Moscow four goals to one, a fact that will boost their morale, as they look to bag all three points and cement their position at the top of the table. Liverpool is however quite well known for their determination, oomph and a knack for spectacular comebacks, so don’t rule them out yet. If anything they are more deadly now as they look to pick up pace in the league race.

Liverpool is likely going by the 4-5-1 formation with Fernando Torres up front with Gerrard close behind him. Wing support will come from Maxi Rodriguez from the right and Milan Jovanović on the left. Skertel and Jamie Carragher are going to be in central defense and the keeper Jose Reina Paez will definitely be hoping for a clean sheet.

Drogba may have other ideas though; he is known for teasing this specific keeper by scoring well improvised goals, though skeptics may call them ‘flukes’. He [Drogba] is likely to play as a central striker flanked by Nicholas Anelka to his left and Salomon Kalou to his right, as they play the 4-3-3 formation. Michael Essien is the man to watch, as he organizes his midfield to provide attacking passes to their strikers. The reliable Petr Cech is going to be the keeper for this Chelsea side.

Betting Tip for Liverpool vs Chelsea

The question for this match is likely Liverpool’s current form, which have certainly not been anywhere Chelsea this season. Their most recent performance against Napoli more than proved the difficulties Liverpool are having, and though winning 3-1, they did not impress. Chelsea is the favorite and our choice will be to back the London side, who is by current form one or two classes ahead.

Betting Tip – Chelsea to win.
