Lech Poznan vs. Manchester City – Europa League – Match Preview and Betting Tips

Manchester City is facing Lech Poznan away from home in Europa League. This game is set to take place tonight at 19.00 GMT.

Match Preview

The last time these two teams met, Emmanuel Adebayor walked away with the match ball having scored a hat trick (his first at City), as the game ended 3-1 in favor of Manchester City. This is a Group A match, which has spectacular teams such as Juventus and Manchester City. One is therefore surprised at seeing Lech Poznan stand firmly in second place ahead of Juventus. And this, it goes without saying that this is not a team to be taken lightly.

Jacek Zielinski, Lech’s Poznan Coach is likely to put his best line up against City in a bid to cement their position at the top of the table. A win for them could prove decisive in terms of progress to the knockout phase. I for one cannot wait for all the action but until then, both teams have decisions to make and issues to settle.

Take Manchester City for example, their shocking 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton that’s left them eight point adrift of leaders Chelsea in the Premier League, and not to mention their 3-0 demolition by Arsenal the week before.

Kolo Toure openly admitted that they “have problems” earlier this week, which are factors their coach Roberto Mancini will have to prove before tonight’s match.
Toure was referring to the bust-up his younger brother and fellow teammate Yaya Toure had with James Milner in the tunnel at their away game in Arsenal. Their coach had tried to rubbish talk of division, but the fact is now very evident.

City will most likely not make any changes to their 4-3-3 formation and are likely to play Adebayor at the center front to see, if he can perform as he did in his last game. Their defense should be wary of Artjoms Rudnevs, the Lech Poznan striker has scored 3 times so far. In addition defender Manuel Arboleda has scored twice.

Betting Tip

This is a game where City is likely to take the win with them, but in football you can never rule out any team. Especially considering the problems within the city squad, which does not seem resolved yet. We therefore recommend the draw for tonight’s match, a result both teams could be satisfied with.
