Backing the two favorites is definitely not the correct betting opportunity today. Especially Sidney’s Candy will find it difficult to get a good position in the race from position 20 but things are not that much better for Lookin at lucky who definitely do not want to try and win this race from the front. Chances are that the horse getting the best position in the race will hit the goal line as the winner this year almost regardless of the odds which also are very close with Lookin at Lucky trading at +400 and the biggest odds to be found on outsiders Deans Kitten, Backtalk and Make Music for Me who all trades at +3500.

Awesome Act is our favorite

Our favorite today is Awesome Act who we believe is up for a good race and the double digit odds available are worth pursuing. However the race is wide open and almost any pick will do today. The European punters could make an easy 12% laying Sidney’s Candy at Betfair currently to the odds of 9.4. Winning $10 by risking $84 is not something many punters are used to but the circumstances in this year Kentucky Derby are too good to pass on and a much more sure betting opportunity than trying to pick the winner.
