France vs South Africa – betting tips, match prediction and preview

World Cup BettingWe have reached final match day in group A and hosts South Africa will play France at 15:00 BST at Bloemfontein. It will require a miracle for both sides to progress at the World Cup, as a draw between Mexico and Uruguay would mean exit for both teams. On the other hand a winner in that match would open up the door slightly, but it still requires a massive four goal swing for France or five goal swing for South Africa to progress.

Match Preview

Scandal, failure, embarrassment or just an utter shambles could all describe the France side at the 2010 World Cup. The rumours of internal problems and fighting between players, coach and staff were more than confirmed after Nicolas Anelka was sent home for insulting Domenech at halftime against Mexico. Afterward the French players refused to train in protest to the exclusion and in addition the French Football Federation managing director Jean-Louis Valentin signed his resignation. In the rest of the world people has been shaking their head in disbelieve, and needless to say the French behaviour is an embarrassment not worthy of the World Cup.

The French play on the football pitch has not been much better, with a draw against Uruguay and a 2-0 defeat to Mexico. It would require more than miracle to turn around the French side and Domenech will likely have to look beyond his beloved stars to find an answer.

The South African hosts started out promising with a draw against Mexico, but need a big miracle now to avoid being the first hosts at the World Cup not reaching the knockout stage. Bafana Bafana’s shortcomings were exposed against Uruguay, which resulted in a 3-0 defeat. Carlos Alberto Parreira’s side will be even more limited against France, as both their keeper is suspended and midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi. Nevertheless, they will have an army of vuvuzela drones behind them and will be playing a French side going to pieces after a week of chaos.

Team Updates

The French side will be without Anelka after he was sent home, while defensive midfielder Toulalan is suspended for two yellow cards in the previous matches.

As mentioned, goalkeeper Khune and midfielder Dikgacoi are suspended for South Africa and will be replaced with Jospehs on goal and Sibaya in midfield.
