EPT Berlin

The first ever PokerStars European Poker Tour in Berlin is well underway and only 24 players remain from the huge starting field of 945 players who all paid €5.000, creating a monster prize pool of €4.725.000. The winner of EPT Berlin is guaranteed €1.000.000, which will surely be going through the mind of most of remaining players as they play down to the final table today.

Interesting poker action

When you take a look at the remaining players, we could see some very interesting poker action today as the players take their seat for day 4. Especially the two chip leaders, Kevin MacPhee and Theo Jørgensen, will be exciting to follow.

The current chip leader MacPhee is mainly known for his online play under the name “IamLuckSac”, where he has made great results and qualified for many major events the last couple of years. It seems he has finally translated the results into live tournaments and it will be interesting to see if he can follow through with a final table today and maybe even a win tomorrow.

Theo Jørgensen in second chip position is probably the most well-known name left in tournament and has been around since the mid nineties on the live tournament circus. The Danish professional player has already made two EPT final tables and in addition tree WSOP final tables, including one bracelet win back in 2008 at the WSOPE in London. Theo must surely be considered one of favorites to take down the title, if makes through to the final table today. Playing good aggressive poker and having a big chip stack, the other players will get a hard time handling Theo.

Joao Barbosa & Strassman

Among the shorter stacks remaining you also find notable names like Joao Barbosa and Johannes Strassman who both have great EPT result and might become a force, if they manage to double up at the early stages today.

The top 5 before the start of day 4 at EPT Berlin:

1. Kevin MacPhee (US) 2.526.000
2. Theo Jorgensen (Denmark) 2.408.000
3. Marc Inizan (France) 2.109.000
4. Ketul Nathwani (UK) 2.056.000
