Read on for Bonus Riders Prediction and Preview, we will provide you with our betting selection and best odds for your bet and latest team news.

The last five years

Let’s start of this by saying that in the last five years the winner of the community shield has gone on take the title that same season. Liverpool having the honor of being the team that has missed out.

Chelsea’s Carlo Ancelloti has already thrown down a gauntlet of intent by naming his team two days early, a strong team and one that he fully intends to start the season with. No world cup hangovers allowed for Ivanovic, Terry, Ferreira Kalou, Anelka, and Malouda. Meanwhile Michel and Michael Essien are raring to go after missing the World Cup through injury. Didier Drogba has also been confirmed as a surprise inclusion on the bench. The nucleus of the team is the same the tactics are the same and hunger and desire seems to be the same as last seasons.

The Chelsea team

The Chelsea team in full is: Hilario, Ivanovic, Terry, Ferreira, Cole, Essien, Lampard, Mikel, Kalou, Anelka, Malouda.

At Manchester United things are different although they have fared better than Chelsea in the pre season so far, the team has been constantly chopped and change and it’s anyone’s guess what type of team or formation they will line up.
Sir Alex had hinted earlier that he was contemplating starting the season with two strikers up front, perhaps inspired by Rooney’s subdued summer. Furthermore Gabriel Obertan, Rio Ferdinand, Anderson, Owen Hargreaves and Michael Carrick have all been ruled out. Patrice Evra has been given an extra week off after his nightmare World Cup so he wont be involved.

In his press conference Ferguson hardly inspired confidence when he said

“Rooney and Owen definitely need to play 45 minutes on Sunday…. We always take the long view there is no point pushing players too early, so I don’t think we will get the benefit of these players until the third week of the season.”

Betting Tip

It’s a difficult prediction but after going through the preview and team news it seems that Chelsea will go into the game more prepared and focused than Manchester united.
